I interviewed to get accepted into a sports summer camp to play soccer with my friend who is experienced in soccer while I had no experience. She urged me to try and I did even though I have no experience. I was accepted and was incredibly nervous because I knew I didn’t know what I was doing. I had never played a sport seriously before. I arrived at check in with her and we were standing in line. There were two guys ahead of us who my friend knew and introduced to me and I felt embarrassed because I knew I didn’t belong there and my appearance of being overweight surely gave me away. They didn’t seem very interested in me, if at all and mainly spoke to her. After check in, we boarded a large helicopter that was going to take us to the camp location which is in a different country. Somewhere tropical. I sat there nervous because I felt like an imposter and scared for what was about to come because I knew that I knew nothing about soccer. My friend told me that when we get there, it’s like a 9-5 job. We will play soccer and train all day long with a lunch break and whatever food we brought with ourselves that day is all we have to eat. They won’t feed us there. I was worried because I didn’t feel like I had enough food if I was going to be training all day to keep me satiated. I knew I was out of shape, overweight, and never played soccer or any sport so it was scaring me. We landed on a very large tropical island which was somewhere Like the Philippines and We walked around and explored. I was stressed about where we were because no one could tell me exactly where it was that we were.
